“Emily and Jody played a special concert for us at home. We are all retired and living independently, but we enjoy some activities together. The music was beautiful and melodic, leading one lady to say that she felt really relaxed and would sleep well that night. Excellent musicianship, coupled with sensitivity and warmth: such a lovely evening.” (Paula, Retirement Community Resident)
“Exquisite” (Uncut Magazine)
With seven albums and five books to her name, independent British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer and poet Emily Maguire has had 3 singles playlisted on Radio 2, toured the UK extensively with the likes of American legend Don McLean and been interviewed on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Front Row, Midweek and numerous regional BBC Radio stations.
“Music for the soul” (Maverick Magazine)
Now separated from her Australian husband and musical partner Christian Dunham with whom she toured for 20 years playing every kind of venue from folk clubs, arts centres and theatres to the acoustic stage at Glastonbury Festival and concert halls including the Royal Albert Hall, Emily is now performing solo at intimate private house concerts, folk clubs and retirement communities in the UK.
“A class act” (The Mirror)
Jody Prewett is Emily’s solo opening act, a fantastic acoustic guitarist, composer and singer-songwriter. Click here to listen to some of his gentle, soulful music. Emily and Jody are both happy to perform ‘unplugged’ but generally they bring a small amp and sing with a microphone to help those who are hard of hearing.
“A joy to listen to. Lovely, thoughtfully written songs, very poetic.” (Jane, Retirement Community Resident)
Emily and Jody are both based in Bath and are happy to travel to retirement communities in Bristol and surrounding areas. They ask for a guaranteed fee of £150 and ideally a minimum of 10 people in the audience. If you would like them to come and sing for your retirement community, please contact Emily direct.
